Marie Benito was born in 1982. She is french and she had been living in Mexico
since 2002 where she studied cinema in the Centro de
Capacitación Cinematográfica.
In 2008 she participed in the Berlinale Talent Campus. Her first short film El deseo
was in oficial competition in the Cannes’s festival 2008. Now she is finishing her
school graduate’s short film and working on her first feature film.
Ana, a fifty years old woman falls into a depression when her husband leaves her. One day she decides to
go out of this depression and starts changes from the outside to the inside. With the weakness of desire she starts a process in which she rediscovers her new sexuality.
Watching women closer to the critical years in which it is no easy to built
a new life with a new partner, It was interesting for me the desire item and the
way they lives their sexuality. I think that each human edge live the sexuality
in a different way and closer to the oldness to be alone and a brake up with a partner
is much more painful, although in some hide place
inside a woman, the desire remains
and I believe that because od that feeling it is always a chance to find a new sexuality.
